Reclamation Sculptures

My sculptures of trees in vibrant, saturated colors are acts of reclamation—reclaiming both the natural world and the way we perceive it. Through these works, I challenge the conventional, often somber representation of nature and the way it has been reduced, commodified, and often overlooked in modern life. By infusing trees, symbols of life, growth, and resilience, with bold and unexpected colors, I seek to reimagine our relationship to the environment, creating new pathways for understanding and connection.

The tree, as a motif, is inherently symbolic—rooted in the earth, reaching toward the sky, a living testament to time and transformation. But in a world where nature is too often diminished or erased, these brightly colored trees stand as a bold reclamation of space and meaning. The colors are deliberately unconventional—intense hues that break from naturalistic expectation, demanding attention and inviting the viewer to pause and reconsider the presence of nature in our lives. They are not passive objects, but active participants in a conversation about restoration, preservation, and our role in nurturing the world around us.
